Although the Wichita Marriott has been a cornerstone of the Wichita, Kansas, community since 1987 and is part of a renowned global luxury hotel brand, its social media presence did not fully reflect its well-established reputation. Recognizing the need to connect with a broader audience, the hotel aimed to position itself as the top choice for visitors to Wichita and as a local events venue in addition to strengthening its reputation as a leader in hospitality. Our team showcased their commitment to Wonderful Hospitality. Always. with a successful marketing campaign to help them win Best Hotel in the 2024 Best of Wichita contest!

The Challenge

In addition to reviving Wichita Marriott’s social media platforms by showcasing their unique characteristics while following brand standards and content pillars, they set the bar high for us with a new challenge! Wichita Marriott chose to participate in the 2024 Best of Wichita contest, a highly competitive event with over 7,000 businesses vying for a top-three spot in 243 categories. This contest offered a platform that could showcase the hotel’s excellence and increase its visibility among potential guests and event attendees.

The three-week voting period ran from August 19 to September 6, following the closing of nominations on August 2. Winners were announced on December 15 in the Best of Wichita magazine. Through daily online votes and an effective marketing campaign, Wichita Marriott surpassed 26 other hotels to win Gold for Best Hotel in 2024!

Our Solution

While the Marriott had never participated in the Best of Wichita Contest before, we set audacious goals and succeeded in snagging them Gold in Best Hotel!

To achieve our goals, we implemented a multi-channel marketing strategy that included photography, social media, email marketing, print media, custom landing pages, signage, digital billboards, and employee engagement.

  • Customized Content: We created custom, strategic content for social media channels and stories, encouraging audiences on multiple platforms to vote.
  • Employee Activation: We partnered with the leadership team to engage employees and encourage them to participate in the voting process.
  • Simplified Voting: To streamline the voting experience, we created a custom landing page with a dedicated URL for easy access, as well as a unique button and header to help the Wichita Marriott stand out among competitors.
