We’re pretty excited around here today because we just launched a new website for the COMMUNITY CLINIC ASSOCIATION OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY (CCALAC). The new site features secure member pages, enhanced search options and a bold new layout.
CCALAC is the largest regional association of nonprofit community and free clinics in California. Founded in 1994, CCALAC has 55 members that operate more than 200 clinics throughout the county. These clinics serve nearly one million patients per year, the majority of whom are uninsured or underinsured.
The previous CCALAC site was built on a Cold Fusion framework. The content was cluttered and outdated, and users often had trouble finding important information. We created a site map, and used that to step through the design process with CCALAC project managers paying special attention to their wants and needs. According to Alex Medina, Communications Specialist at CCALAC, The biggest complaint is that the old site is hard to navigate and doesn’t allow for our Member Clinics and Affiliates to find the information they need.
The new website, built from the ground up using the WordPress framework, has custom plugins that allow Member Clinic representatives and Affiliate members to log in and find exactly what they’re looking for. Now, when users need to view Meeting materials, Job Board listings or Resource Library documents, they’ll be able to perform a quick search and find all these items with ease. A revamped and secure member log-in area makes it easier for CCALAC administrators to maintain different levels for member clinics and affiliates.
The new site is organized with a homepage that uses colored boxes to immediately engage the user and direct them exactly where they need to go. An easy-to-read Calendar of Events adorns the homepage providing a quick preview of upcoming events and easy sign up process for users interested in attending popular forums like the upcoming Health Care Symposium.
Initially, CCALAC project managers felt like it might be a risk to work with an out-of-state firm, but our referral feedback was so impressive, they felt comfortable with their decision. We’re proud of the relationships we have with our clients, and we’re blushing a little because of all the great things they had to say about us.
This new website will help secure CCALAC’s position in LA County as a collective voice for advocacy for community clinics and health centers and a resource for people who want information about the importance of community clinics and health centers. ~Alex Medina
We sent flowers to CCALAC this morning because we know it’s a big day for them. The switchover to the new site is running smoothly, and we’ll be here for them all weekend if they have any questions. For us, this is not just a job, it’s a chance to build lasting relationships.
When the flowers arrived this afternoon, CCALAC showed us some love on Twitter. So sweet!
Thank you @LeeMediaGroup for our flowers. And our awesome new website. http://t.co/rQAMAqEKi6 pic.twitter.com/Rnk5AZVywW
