Web Support Specialist
Lee Media Group, a full-service digital marketing agency in downtown Wichita, is looking for a Web Support Specialist to join our creative team. This role is a mix of client website support, technical and security maintenance, and collaboration on new projects. If you enjoy problem solving in a creative, fast-paced agency environment, we want to hear from you.
This is a full-time position based in our downtown Wichita office. (We are not currently offering remote work.) We are willing to consider a part-time schedule for current students to accommodate school commitments.
Responsibilities
- Complete simple web development tasks as needed. This could include the following:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of WordPress websites and landing pages, following established best practices and design standards.
- Create and maintain client training documents and lead client training sessions.
- Actively test, troubleshoot, and debug website issues, providing proactive and detailed problem-solving solutions.
- Collaborate and communicate with all team members on a variety of web or digital marketing projects.
- Manage incoming support requests.
- Monitor and manage our client support ticket queue, providing timely and professional responses to client requests (that may include website updates, technical support, email-related issues, or questions about new projects).
- Some requests will be related to social media, graphic design, or more advanced web projects – you will be responsible for making sure that information is forwarded to the appropriate person for follow-up.
- Monitor and manage security and maintenance for client websites.
- Monitor and apply WordPress core and plugin updates to approximately 60 websites, on a frequent basis.
- Thoroughly test and audit websites post-update to check for broken links, functionality errors, and visual bugs.
- Proactively run site health scans focused on page speed, accessibility, and best practices, documenting and reporting any identified issues.
Requirements
- 1+ year of practical WordPress experience (or equivalent training/education such as a boot camp or formal degree).
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate with a variety of personalities.
- Required to track all tasks at all times for all clients via Teamwork, our timekeeping and project management system.
- Basic understanding of fundamental web technologies like HTML5 and CSS3.
- Solid understanding of front-end web development principles.
- Basic understanding of web hosting and DNS management.
